This MOOC explores how data influences creative processes.

A MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) is an online course designed to be accessible to a large number of participants.

I am a professor at LUCA School of Arts, where I teach about integrating data into design processes.

All my course material is open.

on subjects like Adobe software, frontend design, sound design, data visualizations, collections and data...

Latest course: Prototyping: Figma for CSS & JS Frameworks

The course is organised at the 2nd bachelor degree at LUCA School of Arts in BX and handles Figma in relation to CSS and Javascript frameworks.

I teach about creating and applying data.

Like creating sound data with Ableton ...

... and apply the sound data to generate graphics with Touchdesigner.

But also teach on Curating Collections and Datasets

The course "Data & Collections" is centered on the study of collections and examines how data and artificial intelligence are reshaping the management, categorization, display, and experience of art and design.

Students create a collection, categorize the collection items and create two distinct representations of it.

One as a digital dataset and the other as a physical representation inspired by Marcel Duchamps La Boîte-en-valise.

This course also examines the impact of data and data visualizations in (artistic) research.

Data represents reality, encompassing both tangible objects and real-time events.

Like art collections are datasets showcased during events, contextualized by curators.

And published in catalogues.

Or Course materials taught in classes on specific subjects at designated times throughout the academic year.

Compiled in handbooks and learning management systems.

Data extends beyond textual information to include static or dynamic pixels, audio files, motion data captured by a webcam, or the categories used to organize collected items.

Visualizing data allows you to perceive reality from a new perspective through the use of machines, enhancing and broadening your research.

Nuxt Decap Students

is a repository published on Github

It highlights multiple facets of data and development, such as interface design, data visualization, and organizing and categorizing datasets.

and is used in (nearly) all courses.
